Safe and Sound Equine Service

Emergency Policy

Emergency service is available 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.

Our goal is to be available to meet all of your horse’s medical needs. If you have an urgent concern, please call our normal business number at 770-252-8414. Our answering service will immediately contact us. We will call you as soon as we possibly can. The normal turnaround time is usually 10-15 minutes.

Your horse’s health is our first concern. Please help us to assist you by making sure that someone is available to take our return calls. Please be sure the telephone line is open, that you have an adequate cell signal or provide a land line where we can reach you without delay.

There is an additional fee for calls made after normal business hours. An urgent care fee will also apply for calls during normal business hours that require immediate care or for which a scheduled time is unavailable.

Payment Policy

Payment is expected at time of service unless prior arrangements have been made. We accept cash, check or all major credit cards. Any balance that is not paid within thirty days is subject to a finance charge of 1.5% per month (18% annually) until the balance is paid in full.

Clients with delinquent accounts for over ninety days will be refused service including emergency care until the balance is paid in full. Once the balance has been cleared, payment will be expected at time of service.

In addition, clients with balances that are, in our opinion, excessively high will be required to pay at time of service until their balance has been paid in full, including late fees and finance charges.

Scheduling Policy

Normal appointments are scheduled Monday through Friday with some Saturday appointments available. We respect your time and endeavor to maintain our schedule. However, delays do occur due to circumstances beyond our control. If we will be running more than thirty minutes behind schedule, we will let you know as soon as possible. In order to maintain our schedule, we will be unable to wait for a client more than thirty minutes past the scheduled time for the appointment. If you are running late, please call us. If our schedule permits, we will gladly wait for you. If our schedule does not permit, we will assist you in rescheduling your appointment at the earliest opportunity.

Trip Charge Policy

Our trip charges are based on distance and time from our office location to the patient’s location. A partial trip fee will be charged when we can serve several clients at the same location or in the same geographical area. The partial fee will vary based on the number of clients and their proximity. In all cases, a minimum fee will apply.
